By 1992 Yamaha was selling a FOUR CYLINDER, 750 cc top-of-the-line trail/lake shredder in its VMax-4

For the 1993 season, the others came to the table.   Polaris STORM at 750 cc, Ski-Doo MACH Z at 780 cc.

Unfortunately for them, Arctic Cat had adopted an attitude of dominance and released its first THUNDERCAT at 900 cc.

Within 2 model years, the others had upped the ante on displacement.  750’s morphed to 800 cc
