In 1969, Polaris had poor prospects for their upcoming racing season – what with the German engines they were using. To drum up excitement for their brand, they devised the POLARIS THRILL TEAM. Not racing, but rather dare-devil exhibitions held at races and winter carnivals.
1969 Polaris machines drove through burning plywood structures and demonstrated roll-over, loop-de-loop, and long-distance jumps over lined-up cars.
Considered a big success, in great part because not one 1969 Polaris crashed into a car!
